Winthrop High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee Seeks Nominations for 2026 Induction

Robert DeGregorio, President of the Winthrop High School Athletic Hall Of Fame Committee, would like to inform members of the public that nomination forms are available for the 2026 Hall of Fame Induction.

You may nominate a candidate online by completing the online application which is located on this online link: www.winthrop.k12.ma.us/athletics/hall-of-fame or by printing the nomination application located on the second link: www.winthrop.k12.ma.us/athletics/hall-of-fame and upon completion of the printed application forms, please mail them to: WHS Athletic Hall of Fame P.O. “Anyone may nominate an individual or individuals,” DeGregorio said. “In addition to the nomination from, which must be completed and signed, nominations should be accompanied by additional information pertaining to the nominee such as letters from head or assistant coaches, newspaper articles, awards received, statistics, photo’s, etc.”

Membership in the WHS Athletic Hall of Fame is open to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the Winthrop High School athletic programs, either through their participation in athletics or their association with Winthrop Athletics as a coach, faculty member, or through exceptional service.

To be eligible as an individual athlete or as a team, the individual or team members must have graduated from Winthrop High School, and must have been part of a class that was graduated at least ten years prior to the nomination.

The WHS Athletic Hall of Fame also recognizes other significant individuals, such as administrators and others, who have made special contributions to the Winthrop High School Athletic Program.

The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, July 31, 2026.

In addition to President DeGregorio, and Richard Thibeau the WHS Athletic Hall of Fame Committee members are: Susan Freedland, Vice-President, Kevin Corkhum, Treasuer, Pamela Gilfoyle Lund, Secretary, Mark DeGregorio, Director of Athletics, Peg Bailey, Howard Conley, Maria Currier, Courtney Finn, Richard Fucillo, Phil Ronan, and Chris Tsiotos.
