Trionfi-Mazzuchelli Will Leave HerPosition as Director of Veterans’ Services

Roseann Trionfi-Mazzuchelli, who has served as veterans’ services director for the town of Winthrop for the past nine years, is stepping down to take a similar role in the towns of Melrose, Wakefield, and Saugus.

Trionfi-Mazzucchelli, who is a veteran of the U.S. Army, will begin in her new position as director of veterans’ services for the three neighboring communities on July 5. Her office will be based at the Milano Family Senior Center in Melrose.

Trionfi-Mazzuchelli, 61, served 21 years in the U.S. Army. She was in the Army’s Military Police officer for three years, serving in Germany. She was a special agent in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Command for 18 years.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as Winthrop’s veterans’ services director,” said Trionfi-Mazzucchelli. “I learned so much. It was my second favorite job, other than being a mom. I’m truly happy that I was able to serve all of Winthrop’s military veterans and their families. It was my honor to serve. I have great pride in my hometown. I will forever be grateful to the veterans I served with, especially Rich Honan, with whom I planned the town’s events. Also, the Winthrop American Legion Post 146 and all the other organizations that supported veterans’ services.”

Trionfi-Mazzucchelli also noted the support of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks, the Drop Zone Brewery, Winthrop Federal Credit Union and local businesses “who constantly donated to assist our veterans.”

“And I want to thank the volunteers from my veterans’ food bank, because without them, I could not have run the food bank,” said Trionfi-Mazzuchelli.

The popular Winthrop resident also expressed “my eternal gratitude” to her husband, David, and their four children, Lauren, Joseph, Frank, and Paul,  for their support of her work as veterans’ services director.

TC President Letterie Praises Outgoing Director

Town Council President Jim Letterie praised Trionfi-Mazzuchelli’s commitment to helping Winthrop’s veterans throughout her tenure.

“Roseann has been an incredible asset to the town,” said Letterie. “She has helped many veterans over the years. We are very sorry to see her leave and wish her nothing but the best.”

Police Chief Terence Delehanty, who just completed his second stint as interim town manager, also thanked Mazzucchelli for her service.

“We appreciated all of her efforts that she dedicated to Winthrop, and it was a pleasure to work with her,” said Delehanty.
