Richard Minichiello is a long-time resident of Winthrop who recently celebrated his 100th birthday. In attendance at the party were Representative Jeff Turco and Council President Philip Boncore.
A great many family and friends including his brother, Robert Minichiello, who is younger and just celebrated his 98th birthday. Also his son Robert Minichiello and his wife Sari and numerous grandchildren were on hand as well as Toni Minichiello and husband Todd, Thaddeus Darcy and partner Kerri, Bryony Darcy and husband Stephane, Jaime and partner Devin, Alexa and partner Brian, Nathaniel and wife Kathryn.
Richard served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a pilot flying planes over the so-called “hump†which was the Himalayas Mountains.
Richard had a very active social life and contributed to a great many causes during his lifetime, including numerous Veteran programs and a longtime member of the Winthrop Golf Club. Richard has made so many friends that it would be impossible to mention all of them but a great many of them were in attendance last Saturday at the Pleasant Park Yacht Club where his 100th birthday was celebrated.
