Construction Update: Center Business District Project updates

The following is a summary of the work completed this week and the work P. Gioioso & Sons, Inc. (contractor) has scheduled for the next two weeks. Please note, the anticipated schedule may vary due to unforeseen site conditions, weather conditions, or other factors out of the contractor’s control.

Two-Week Anticipated

Schedule through 7/30/21

1. July 19 to July 30, 2021:

a.      Scheduled Work:

   i.    Begin installation of electric conduit on Woodside Avenue, between Pauline Street and French Square.

   ii.   Begin resetting existing granite curb and installing new concrete sidewalks on Somerset Avenue.

b.      Traffic Management (M-F, 7 AM to 4 PM):

   i.    The CBD can be accessed from Cottage Park Road, Woodside Avenue (from Pleasant Street), and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road, Jefferson Street, and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD. 

   ii.   Woodside Avenue will be closed at Pauline Street. Access will be permitted to local residents and businesses.

   iii.  Somerset Avenue will be closed at Pleasant Street.

2.  July 26 to July 30

a.      Scheduled Work:

   i.    Continue installation of electric conduit on Woodside Avenue, between Pauline Street and French Square.

   ii.   Begin installation of electrical conduit on Pauline Street and Hagman Road.

   iii.  Continue resetting granite curb and installing new concrete sidewalk on Somerset Avenue.

b.    Traffic Management (M-F, 7 AM to 4 PM ):

   i.    The CBD can be accessed from Cottage Park Road, Woodside Avenue (from Pleasant Street), and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road, Jefferson Street, and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.
