Center Business District Project Updates

The following is a summary of the work completed this week and the work P. Gioioso & Sons, Inc. (contractor) has scheduled for the next two weeks. Please note, the anticipated schedule may vary due to unforeseen site conditions, weather conditions, or other factors out of the contractor’s control.

Construction Updates and Schedule:             

Work completed this week (6/21/21 to 6/25/21):

• Reclaim and paving of road surface on Somerset Avenue, between Woodside Avenue and Pleasant Street, and on Cottage Park Road, between Somerset Avenue and Pleasant Street.

Two-Week Anticipated Schedule

June 28 to July 2, 2021:

Scheduled Work:

• Begin raising castings on installed structures on Somerset Avenue, between Woodside Avenue and Pleasant Street, and on Cottage Park Road, between Somerset Avenue and Pleasant Street.

• Site clean-up of staging areas and stockpile areas.

Traffic Management (7 AM to 4 PM):

• Streets within the immediate work area will be posted no parking 48 hours in advance of work. Localized road shutdowns will be coordinated with the Owner as required.

• Somerset Avenue and Cottage Park Road will be closed at Pleasant Street. Access will be permitted to local residents and businesses.

July 5 to July 9, 2021

Scheduled Work:

• No work will occur on Monday, July 5th, in observation of Fourth of July holiday.

• Begin reclaim and paving of road surface on Woodside Avenue, between Pauline Street and French Square; on Hagman Road; on Jefferson Street, between French Square and Fremont Street; and in French Square.

Traffic Management (M-F, 7 AM to 4 PM ):

• Streets within the immediate work area will be posted no parking 48 hours in advance of work. Localized road shutdowns will be coordinated with the Owner as required.
