Construction Update: Center Business District Project Continues

The following is a summary of the work completed at the Center Business District project this week and the work P. Gioioso and Sons, Inc. (contractor) has scheduled for the next two weeks.

Please note, the anticipated schedule may vary due to unforeseen site conditions, weather conditions, or other factors out of the contractor’s control.

Construction Updates and Schedule:

Work completed this week (to May 21):

• Construction of storm drain improvements on Somerset Avenue, between Cottage Park Road and Pleasant Street.

• Construction of storm drain improvements on Cottage Park Road at the intersection of Somerset Avenue.

Two-week Anticipated Schedule (from May 24 to June 4)

May 24 to May 28, 2021:

Scheduled Work:

• Construction of storm drain improvements on Cottage Park Road, at the intersection of Somerset Avenue, and on Cottage Park Road, between Somerset Avenue and Pleasant Street.

Traffic Management (Cottage Park Road/Somerset Avenue Intersection Work, M-T, 7 AM to 4 PM):

• The CBD can be accessed from Woodside Avenue and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.

• Somerset Avenue and Cottage Park Road will be closed at Pleasant Street. Access will be permitted to local residents and businesses.

Traffic Management (Cottage Park Road Work; W-F, 7 AM to 4 PM):

• The CBD can be accessed from Somerset Avenue, Woodside Avenue, and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.

• Cottage Park Road will be closed at Pleasant Street. Access will be permitted to local residents and businesses.

May 31 to June 4, 2021

Scheduled Work

• No construction work will occur on Monday, May 31st, in observation of Memorial Day.

• Construction of storm drain improvements on Cottage Park Road, between Somerset Avenue and Pleasant Street.

Traffic Management (M-F; 7 AM to 4 PM):

• The CBD can be accessed from Somerset Avenue, Woodside Avenue, and Jefferson Street during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM). Hagman Road and Bartlett Road will be open during construction hours (7 AM to 4 PM) to exit the CBD.

• Cottage Park Road will be closed at Pleasant Street. Access will be permitted to local residents and businesses.
