Winthrop Foundation Awards $3,600 Grant Library

The Winthrop Foundation has voted to award the Winthrop Public Library a grant of $3,600 for computer software to expedite the library’s drive-thru book release program.

The library has been closed due to COVID-19. The grant will allow the library to serve Winthrop residents efficiently in the book-borrowing and return process. Winthrop residents can reserve a book online and pick it up outside the library.

“These are unprecedented times and the Winthrop Foundation is happy to help out our library in some small way,” said Foundation Chairman Russ Sanford.

Board Member Gus Martucci added, “The Winthrop Foundation is here to distribute funds that were generously donated by Massport and will have a positive impact on all Winthrop residents.”
