Another Vehicle Rolls Over on Shore Drive

Just before 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning, a 2015 Honda Civic crashed into a parked, unoccupied, 2013 Volkswagon Beetle, on the corner of Shore Drive and Beach Road. The Honda Civic was occupied by a 62-year-old male resident of Winthrop who was taken to Mass. General by EMS for minor injuries. According to State Police, the driver was likely blinded by the sun before he hit the parked vehicle. Both vehicles were towed and the scene was cleared by 8 a.m. While this is the second rollover accident on Shore Drive over the past month, there is no data relating the two incidents. On Oct. 6, the driver of a Mitsubishi Eclipse, crashed into a parked 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck, and flipped over onto its roof on Winthrop Shore Drive, near Neptune Avenue, resulting in two deaths.
