Notice of Public Meeting On Traffic Safety

 In accordance with GL c.40A, s.11 notice is hereby given that the Winthrop Traffic Safety Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 8 a.m. at Town Hall in the Joseph Harvey Hearing Room, One Metcalf Square, Winthrop, to consider changing traffic patterns in the vicinity of the Winthrop Middle/High School during school pick up and drop off times.

Annual Turkey Shoot

Winthrop Mixed Lodge #2057 Order Sons and Daughters of Italy will hold their “Seventh Annual Turkey Shoot” as a fundraiser for their Scholarship Fund.

The “Shoot” will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13th, 6:30 p.m., at Winthrop Lodge of Elks, 2nd floor.  Entrance fee is $5.00.

Join all for a night of fun, dessert/coffee, and winning gift cards, pies, and raffles including lottery ticket free.

On Tuesdays, we offer free basic computer help and assistance with library resources. Come by and work with staff on: basic computer skills, ereaders and mobile devices, web searching, email, library resources (Overdrive, Gale Databases, Ancestry.com, and more). Wednesday, Nov. 6, 10:30 a.m.: Mystery Book Club

WPL&M Mystery Book Club returns for its 19th year with the theme: “No Substitute for Experience.” The next book will be Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs. View the full 2019-2020 list here.

Saturday, Nov. 9, 16, 23, 30, 2:00 p.m.: Tango in the Stacks

Four lessons in tango! Limited to the first 12 participants. Registration is required.

Teens and Tweens

Wednesday, Nov. 13, 3:30 p.m. : Fandom Club

Meet with other teens to discuss your favorite animes, games, books, movies, comics, characters and much more! For grades 6-12.

Kids

Friday, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 10:30 a.m. : Storytime – Infants & Toddlers

and

Friday, Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 11:30 a.m. : Storytime – Preschoolers

Storytime is every Friday in the Children’s Room.

Monday, Nov. 4, 11, 18, and 25, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler Craft Time

Toddlers can join us every Monday for a craft project.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 12, 19, and 26, 3:00 p.m. : Kids Create Club

A hands-on activity time for children on Tuesdays after-school. Open to grades 3-6.

 Wednesday, Nov. 6, 13, 23, and 30, 10:30 a.m.: Little Wiggles

Clap your hands, stomp your feet & wiggle with the beat! This is a high-energy music and movement program where your children will be wiggling and giggling throughout. Ages 2-5 years.
