The Winthrop Elks held a softball game and bbq to show support for veterans from the Chelsea Soldiers Home and the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. The game was dedicated to P.E.R. Earl Daly, the late father of present Exalted Ruler Chrissy Daly, who the field was named after years ago because of his support for adult softball.
Winthrop American Legion Post 146 marched the flag on the field so Winthrop High School senior Faith Hill could do an incredible rendition of the National Anthem. Speaker Bob DeLeo threw out the first pitch always supporting our veterans .A bbq while watching the Patriots game followed down at the Elks.
The Winthrop Elks would like to thank Bob Deleo, Winthrop Pro Shop, Winthrop Parks and Rec, Woodside Hardware and all the volunteers who made this day special.
