RPM Pay it Forward Race Brings the Community Together

Last Sunday, the parking lot of RPM Fitness, was packed with participants for the annual Pay it Forward road race. From first-time runners to competitive athletes, the participants all came to run for the same reason…to raise money for families in need. As in years past, the money donated will go to Winthrop residents who are battling an illness or loss. This year, RPM paid it forward to Jen Novia, who was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last July, and the I Like Mike Fund, to benefit the family of longtime member, Michael McDuffee.

“This year’s race had the largest number of participants with 317 runners/walkers and raised over $16,000,” said RPM Fitness owner, Marie Hamilton. “We will be “paying it forward” to Jen Novia, the I Like Mike Fund, NF Northeast, and the Winthrop fireworks. None of this would have been possible without our sponsors, RPM members and the community. Form all of us at RPM Fitness and the Hamilton family, we are grateful for each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity which will certainly make a difference in many lives. We would like to thank all of our volunteers, staff,  and Winthrop Fire and Police for making this event such a success.”
