Wednesday, March 7, 10 a.m. : Mystery Book Club

WPL&M Mystery Book Club continues its Medical Mysteries theme with Intuition by Allegra Goodman.  View the full 2017-2018 list here.

Thursday, March 8, 6:30 p.m.: AUTHOR TALK – Clea Simon

Simon will discuss her work which includes her latest, World Enough, and several mystery series.

Wednesday, March 14, all day : National Pi Day

We’re looking for people who bake to submit pies for our Pi Day Pie Contest. Other activities to be announced.

Thursday, March 15, 22, 29, 11:30 a.m. : Portrait Drawing

Learn the basics of portrait drawing in a popular class by Gerard Leary.

Thursday, March 15, 22, 29, 1:30 p.m. : Creative Writing

If you can tell a story, write a letter or compose an email, you’re already an accomplished writer. This course will encourage you to ignite your fertile imagination, create characters and formulate a story line. No worries about spelling, punctuation or grammar. Gerard is your editor! No registration required, only that you promise to write 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week. Oh, and, practice writing your signature. You’ll need it at your first book signing.

Saturday, March 17, 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. : Ballroom Dance Lessons

Learn the rumba and the foxtrot. Participation limited to the first 10 people and registration is required.  Register by phone, email, or in person.

Wednesday, March 21, 6:30 p.m. : You, Me and Them Book Discussion

This book group hopes to facilitate discussion about social values using popular literature. Their next book is Towelhead by Alicia Erian.

Wednesday, March 28, 6 p.m. : Boston Women’s Heritage Trail

Hear about the new East Boston Trail that was the result of research done in Winthrop with Winthrop residents

Monday, March 5, 3:15 p.m.: Teen Library Council Meeting

Join us for our monthly meeting to discuss teen issues at the library and plan programs for teens!

Tuesday, March 20, 3:30: Teen Trivia Afternoon

Test your useless knowledge against your friends’ for a chance at eternal glory!

Monday, March 26, 3:15 p.m.: Crafternoon

An afternoon crafting session for teens! Bring your own craft or come do a specific craft the library has planned.

 

Kids

Thursdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 3:00 p.m. : Kids Craft Time

A new craft time for children on Thursdays after-school. Open to grades 3-5.

Friday, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 10:30 a.m. : Storytime – Infants & Toddlers and

Friday, March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 11:30 a.m. : Storytime – Preschoolers

Storytime is every Friday in the Children’s Room.

Mondays, March 5, 12, 19, 26, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler Craft Time

Toddlers can join us every Monday for a craft project.

Wednesday, March 7 & 21, 3 p.m.: Lego Club

Lego Club is on the first and third Wednesday of every month in the Hazlett Room.

Wednesday, March 14 and 28, 3 p.m.: Pokémon Club

Pokémon Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday in the Hazlett Room. Trading is optional.
