Boston Local Co-Op Returning to Winthrop for Second Annual Shop Local Expo on Nov 25

The Boston Local Co-op (BLC) is returning for their second annual Shop Local Expo on Nov. 25, and according to the group, it is going to be their biggest retail event yet. The free event will be held at the old Winthrop Middle School gym (151 Pauline St.) from 9am-2pm, and will be packed with 60 retail vendors from Winthrop and surrounding communities. “There are some incredibly talented businesses with amazing products showcasing at the Expo” said BLC member Jess Paulson. “For this years event, we focused on selecting retail vendors who would provide a wide variety of options for customers. There’s everything from custom-made pieces to high-quality jewelry, as well as specialized vendors including organic baby products and pet toys.” The event will also allow families to accomplish other items on their holiday checklists, such as affordable holiday family photographs provided by For Kids Only Afterschool, pre-ordering holiday wreaths and fresh greens from Christopher’s Flower’s, and purchasing Winthrop Dollars from the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce.

The BLC is a nonprofit organization, run solely by volunteers, and founded to provide selling and promotional space to local vendors in the Greater Boston area. Their goal is to bring small businesses together and add value to our local community. Currently, the Co-op sponsors pop-up showcases to give entrepreneurs selling and promotional space, however the groups long term vision is to have a shared storefront where small businesses can showcase their products.

Be sure to stroll through to do some holiday shopping on Nov. 25 and support local businesses on Small Business Saturday!
