Winthrop’s registered voters can cast their ballots in the First Suffolk and Middlesex District State Senate general election Tuesday, May 12.
Winthrop attorney Joseph Boncore, is the lone candidate on the ballot, having topped the ticket in the seven-candidate race for the Democratic nomination in the April 10 primary. There were no Republican candidates in the primary.
Boncore has been attending various events in the district, including Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s community breakfast April 24 at the Hilton Logan Airport Hotel.
Boncore said he is grateful for the support he has received from residents and is hoping that they will participate in the election Tuesday.
“Every election is important because it is a chance for the people to make their beliefs clear when casting their vote,†said Boncore. “I am honored to be the Democratic nominee and grateful for the support that the people of the First Suffolk and Middlesex District have shown. I look forward to working each and every day as their advocate in the State Senate.â€
