The town council met Tuesday night taking care of a few details of interest to the residents.
First, they received a letter from attorney James Cipoletta, who is representing the trustees of 142 Pleasant St., a former nursing home. Cipoletta asked for the application for an SDOD (special development overlay district). The public hearing initially scheduled for Dec. 15 has been canceled.
The request for the Walden Street SDOD will be in front of the Planning Board on Dec. 14. And it will be in front of the council on Jan. 19.
Regarding Logan Airport, the last day to file comments with MassPort about the proposed Terminal E expansion is Dec. 9. A recent meeting on the proposal is available on WCAT cable television. There is also material available at the library.
Town Manager James McKenna showed some pictures of the Miller Field project. He said there are a multitude of issues to discuss. The project will be discussed at the next council meeting on Dec. 15.
“We need to come up with a proposal for the debt exclusion override,†McKenna said.
McKenna added that interviews for a new chief financial officer are moving along. So far eight candidates are being considered.
