FARMER’S MARKET HALLOWEEN BASH

Kids are being encouraged to wear costumes to the last Farmer’s Market of the season on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in French Square. Market vendors will be handing out treats.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT/COLLEGE FAIR

Winthrop High School will be holding a Financial Aid Night/College Fair on Wednesday, October 28th. The Financial Aid presentation will be in the auditorium from 6-7:00 PM. The College Fair will be from 7:15-8:15 PM in the Cafeteria.

COUNTRY FAIR AT ST. JOHN

The Annual Country Fair is back!! Help to support the Class of 2017 on Thursday, November 12th at St. John the Evangelist School Hall from 7-10pm. There will be door prizes, split the pot, and raffles!! There is a $5 entrance fee that includes refreshments with a free gift to the first fifty people. RHS CLASS OF 1966 REUNION SET

RHS Class of 1966 is having a reunion next year.

The event will take place on Sept. 17, 2016.

CAPIC FUEL ASSISTANCE OPENS

CAPIC’s Fuel Assistance Program is accepting applications for this winter’s heating season. The program serves families in Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop and assists households in paying heating bills from November 2015 to April 2016. The program is open to tenants as well as homeowners, whose income is within 60 percent of the state median income. Heat may be oil, propane, kerosene, gas or electric. NARFE TO MEET NOV. 4

The North Shore Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 4 at 1:00 pm at the Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central Street, Peabody. A guest speaker, Alexander Stathopoulos, Blue Cross Blue Shield Field Service Executive, will discuss 2016 changes in BC/BS Health Benefits Programs. A business meeting will follow which will include a raffle and refreshments.

CLARK TO HOLD SENIOR FAIR

Congresswoman Katherine Clark will hold her First Annual Senior Resource Fair in Winthrop on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Join experts from agencies and non-profits around the community to learn more about nutrition and wellness, financial planning, senior safety, Social Security, Medicare and support groups.

The event will take place form 9-11:30 a.m. at the Robert DeLeo Senior Center, 35 Harvard St., Winthrop.
