CAPIC Head Start Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2015

CAPIC Head Start provides comprehensive services to eligible families with children between the ages of 3-5. To be eligible to participate in this federally funded pre-school program families must meet the federal poverty guidelines or qualify for an over-income slot. If the pre-school child to be enrolled is on an IEP or has a physical disability that interferes with the child’s regular learning, the family may exceed the poverty guidelines to participate. CAPIC may enroll up to 10 percent of its full enrollment with children whose families exceed the guidelines. Head Start services include: education, health, family engagement, and social services. Head Start supports each child’s individual development and teachers work to prepare children to be ready to enter kindergarten the Winthrop center is located at 45 Pauline St. Winthrop. Call the Head Start main office at 617-889-5690 ext. 400. Ask for an appointment. The main office is located at 67 Crescent Ave. Chelsea. An intake worker will fill out an application with you. Please bring the following forms of documentation: 4 consecutive pay stubs for all family members who are working or income tax return; TAFDC letter SSI or SSDI letter; Child’s birth certificate; Proof of residency (electric bill, telephone bill, gas bill etc); Child’s health insurance card; Child’s immunization record; Child’s most recent physical exam; Child’s most recent dental exam.
