WINTHROP – The snow has melted in the town center and Sunday, May 3 the center will get even hotter with a Cinco de Mayo celebration geared for the over-21 crowd.
The Winthrop Chamber of Commerce is hosting the celebration from 3-6pm in the French Square area of the town center. Ann and Martin Vasquez, owners of La Siesta, planned the event. Part of the center will be closed to traffic.
“This is the first Cinco de Mayo celebration and the second outdoor event the chamber has held,†said Betsy Shane, executive director of the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce. “It’s been a long winter and now its time to come out, have some fun, and celebrate spring.â€
