A Winthrop man was arrested for alleged distribution of heroin Tuesday.
James Giacalone, 46, of Winthrop was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of a Class A substance (heroin).
James Giacalone is currently being held without bail.
Detectiveve Callinan, Detective Carter, Lt. Detective Brian Perrin, Detective Robert Jaworski, Revere Police Detective Robert Impemba and Revere Police Detective Caramanica responded to the area of 35 Pearl Ave. in Winthrop to conduct a Search Warrant of the basement apartment located at the address and a search of the motor vehicle in the possession of Giacalone.
The Detectives from both communities have been working on a collaborative investigation of Giacalone who is a resident at the basement apartment in Winthrop for alleged distribution of heroin.
“I am extremely pleased that the Detective Unit has worked with the neighborhood to quickly dismantle this particular alleged illegal heroin distribution center,†said Chief Terence M. Delehanty. “As we approach National Night Out this is a fine example of police community partnerships that will make all of our neighborhoods safer.â€
