The Debate is On: Voters Should Listen to Council Candidates

We understand that Mike Cabral, the outstanding executive director of Winthrop Community Access Television (WCAT), has received confirmation that Council President Peter Gill and Jeffrey Turco, former council president, have agreed to participate in a televised Town Council President debate on Oct. 8 with former Selectman Ron Vecchia serving as the moderator.

The candidates squared off in an exciting debate two years ago and this event should be every bit as lively — or even more so. One thing is certain: Mike Cabral will make sure that the debate is a fair and professional forum for the two candidates to deliver their message directly to the residents.
