The tournament will consist of more than 20 club teams from throughout New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts in age group divisions U-12, U-14, and U-16.

Although there is not a Winthrop town team, some of the teams have Winthrop girls on their rosters. The Bay State Riptide features Winthrop girls Amanda Pelletier, Ally Love, Sam Wells, Natalie Fitzpatrick, Christine Haskell, Amanda Pellitier, Alexis Joyce, Emma Carney, Jessica Martin, Regina Garufo and Jaida Hightower. The Riptide squad is coached by Paul Thomas.

WHS head coach Dave Guffey has local girls Taylor Thomas and Maddy Finga’a on the roster for the Academy team. All games will be played at the Winthrop A, B, and C fields, Cellucci Field, and the Noyce Park and Constitution Beach fields in East Boston at Orient Heights. The first game of the tourney is set for 6:00 Friday evening at the Winthrop High softball diamond and will feature the Bay State Riptide vs The Academy.

Saturday’s schedule of games starts at 8:00 a.m. at all fields with games played continuously through the early evening hours.

Sunday will consist of playoff and championship games in all divisions.
