Timothy J. Gordon began his duties this week as the new chief financial officer for the Town of Winthrop.
Gordon, 47, had been formally introduced as the new CFO as the Dec. 4 meeting of the Town Council. The chairman of the Holbrook Board of Selectmen, Gordon was selected from a field of 20 candidates for the CFO position.
Town Manager James McKenna officially welcomed Gordon to the town’s administration at Town Hall Wednesday.
“We’re thrilled to have Tim on board,†said McKenna. “He was selected from a large field of candidates and he was clearly the class among all. We were very happy that he chose to come to Winthrop. He’s a guy we have lot of confidence in so we’re thrilled to round out our team and we couldn’t be more happy that he has joined us.â€
Gordon said he is pleased to be starting as the new chief financial officer and looks forward to working with other officials and department heads in town government.
“It’s great to get started and I’m looking forward to meeting the people in Town Hall and working closely with them,†said Gordon.
