Huang Expands Osaka Lucky Garden Restaurant

The first thing you notice about Osaka Lucky Garden is how new, beautiful, and exquisitely decorated it looks.

Kyle Huang, owner of the newly expanded business at 522 Shirley Street, has drawn from his professional background in architecture and transformed the space across from Crystal Cove Marina into an aesthetically pleasing restaurant that connoisseurs of Chinese, Japanese, Sushi and Thai cuisine are going to enjoy.

There are 46 seats in the restaurant and an expanded dine-in Sushi bar. Its new hardwood floors glistened on opening day this week. Extensive woodworking has been done, there are solid wood tables with leather chairs, and oil paintings adorn the walls. There is an Asian/Oriental décor. It is a warm, welcoming, and comfortable atmosphere.

“People have been very satisfied with our new design and look,” said Huang.

But as anyone in the restaurant business will tell you, looking good is great but tasting well is greater.

And Huang is confident that Winthrop residents and loyal customers who frequented his former Lucky Garden restaurant next door, will delight in all the offerings on the new menu.

“Our appetizers are incredible,” he said with a proud smile. “We serve all white meat, sesame chicken, seafood delight, and whole lobster tail.”

Huang said his culinary staff does not use MSG (monosodium glutamate) in the preparation of its meals. There are zero trans fats. Healthy Akai rice (sugar free) is served. Gluten-free dishes are available.

“We’re very health conscious,” said Huang.

Luncheon specials start at $4.50. There are all-day combo specials for $9 and $11.

The Sushi bar is already proving to be a popular attraction.

“We have a full line of Sushi – many pages of Sushi delicacies on our menu,” said Huang. We use Sushi grade fish of the highest quality. I’m sure the people of Winthrop are going to enjoy this special treat.”

The personable restaurateur is proud of his new restaurant and the outstanding staff he has assembled.

“Our kitchen chef  [Zhou] has over 15 years of experience in cooking Chinese food,” said Huang. “Our Sushi chef [Gao] has over 12 years of experience in preparing Sushi.”

Huang invites Winthrop residents to visit his new restaurant.

“Winthrop needs a nice dining, sit-down Chinese and Japanese restaurant like what Boston has,” said Huang. “I want people from Winthrop to be able to enjoy the same or even better quality of Chinese and Japanese cuisine without driving to Boston or another city. I think it’s time for a change in this beautiful part of our town. I’m a small business owner and I’m proud to be a part of this community. I hope people will visit us and see the improvements we’ve done.”

(Osaka Lucky Garden is open Sunday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. All day delivery service is available).
