‘Taste of Winthrop’ Set for Sept. 21

Over 30 of the area’s finest food businesses will be participating in the sixth annual “Taste of Winthrop” on Wednesday, September 21 at the Winthrop Yacht Club, 649 Shirley Street.  The event is put on by the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce and runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with samples of everything from appetizers and main courses to pastries and desserts.

A wide variety of eating establishments will be on hand.  Restaurants include: Alia Ristorante, Amanda Oakleaf Cakes, Bistro-At-Home, Blackstrap BBQ, Center Café, Café Delite, Café Rossetti’s, Companions Restaurant, D’Amelio’s Off the Boat Seafood, Dough, Ecco, El Paisa, Hi-Tide Restaurant, Hong Kong Dragon, Hot Diggitty, Kasbah, La Siesta, Lucky Garden, Margarita’s, Millie’s Kitchen Catering, Nick’s Place, Paellas At Your Place By Antonio, Paul W. Marks Co., Red Rock Bistro, Russo Imports, Rustic Table, Sammy Carlo’s Catering, Spinelli’s, Tasty Plates Catering, Toretta’s Bakery, Twist & Shake, Winthrop MarketPlace, and more.  The Sandy Paw will also be giving out doggie treats to take home for the pooch.

That night will also feature a Silent Auction, cash bar, and specialty cocktails from Winthrop restaurants.  The local band Pop Into The Chemist will be performing, featuring George Chinaglia, Kara Toomey LoPreste, Mike Hermans, and Boey Bertold.

Tickets are on sale now for just $30 and may be purchased by calling 617-846-9898, on the internet at www.winthropchamber.com, at the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce office at 207 Hagman Road or Luna Boutique at 3 Bartlett Road.  Tables of ten may be reserved in advance for $300.  The event showcases local restaurants, cafés, caterers, and bakeries and is a fundraiser for the business beautification program.  For more information, call 617-846-9898.  Bon appétit!
