Winthrop residents of all ages will be “dancin’ in their seats†Saturday night when 70’s icons Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and Evelyn Champagne King come to Miller Field for the Viking Pride Foundation’s annual summer fundraising event.
Last year’s event featured Tavares (another legendary group from the disco era) and was a huge success that was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
The Viking Pride Foundation has donated more than $600,000 to support programs of all kinds in the Winthrop schools, a contribution that has made a significant difference in the educational experience of Winthrop’s public school students during this era of unprecedented budget shortfalls.
Tickets for Saturday night’s party are $50 for preferred seating on the field and $20 for bleacher seats. We urge all of our readers to come out both to support the VPF and our schools and to have a great time where we can meet our friends and neighbors.
