Winthrop’s Bob Katz hosted the annual golf outing and dinner

The two-man teams of Mike Melanson, of Winthrop, and Richie Accetta of Cranston, R.I., and Bob Nelson of Cape Cod and Doug Bicknese of Delray Beach, Fla., tied for first place and were designated as co-champions in the event that drew 37 players.
John Tipping of Winthrop was the overall individual point quota winner. Bob Nelson was second.
Bob Nelson, Ed Rossi, Don Milano, and Jim Riley were the first-place winners in the team category.
Sal Fata of Delray Beach won the closest to the pin contest on the eighth hole. Alan Graham of Winthrop and Delray Beach was second.
Ed Rossi won the closest to the pin contest on the sixth hole. Steve Kerbel of Delray Beach was second.
Mike Melanson of Winthrop won the closest to the pin contest on the fourth hole. Doug Bicknese was second.
Alan Graham was the winner of the closest to the line in the fairway.
Tournament coordinator Bob Katz thanked John Tipping, Dennis Murray, and Gina Murray for their outstanding assistance at the tournament.
The guests enjoyed a post-tournament Italian buffet consisting of stuffed shells, chicken parmigiana, salads, cheese and crackers, and desserts.
Singer Patty Vellucci showcased her vocal talents during a show at the tournament dinner.
