Winthrop’s Jillian Dempsey has been signed to a full contract by the Boston Fleet women’s professional hockey team following the expiration of her 10- day pact.
The contract means that Dempsey is officially on the roster and will play the next several games with the PWHL franchise.
Dempsey, who has been getting regular shifts, is making her presence felt for the surging Fleet who have won four games in a row and climbed up the standings.
The former Harvard captain is heading to Montreal for a game Saturday against her former team at the Bell Centre, which is the home ice of the Montreal Canadians. Dempsey played for the Montreal team (now known as the Montreal Victoire) during the 2023-24 season.
