Junior running back and linebacker Seth Sacco was the winner of the team’s Ironman competition.
Sacco took first place in the bench press, agility, and 400-meter run to edge out Cappuccio (winner of the 40-yard dash and broad jump events) and Grein, one of the team’s strongest players who has been impressive at right tackle. Grein has been a major contributor to the program since transferring to Winthrop High as a sophomore from Northeast Regional. Grein was a volunteer at the WINARC Christmas Party last December at the Lodge of Elks.
Sacco will be the Vikings’ fullback alongside Nick Cappuccio, Sean Dolan, and Will Murphy. Dolan and Murphy will also split time at receiver.
“I feel really good about our skill guys,” said Cadigan. “We have versatility, and that’s really showing up in the scrimmages.”
