Bike Ride planned for June 3

Come celebrate the end of Spring and the beginning of summer with Bike Winthrop! Riders are encourage to wear their best flower attire. Decorate bikes with flowers (optional) from 4-4:30 p.m. and enjoy a fun three- mile ride around the beautiful Maze neighborhood with friends.

Finish at the park with pizza (by donation) to the festive tunes of DJ Cuzzi.

Children are welcome and encouraged to join, but please must be able to scale moderate hills (like Pauline Street) if biking independently

 

Raise Funds for Fireworks

The annual fundraising for the Fourth of July fireworks has begun, according to Fire Chief Paul Flanagan, and yes, this year’s fireworks will be on the Fourth!

Donations can be sent to the Winthrop Fireworks Fund, 40 Pauline St., Winthrop, MA 02152.

 

Strawberry Festival to be on Saturday, June 23

The annual Winthrop Historical and Improvement Association Strawberry Festival will be held on June 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the barn and in our lovely yard for this WIHA signature event, dating back 115 years. The time and day change allows additional time to enjoy traditional strawberry shortcake, live music and kids’ activities. Also, we hope “weekday workers” will be free to join us…and to check out and enter our ever popular terrific raffle!

Winthrop Ha-bah-Day

The Winthrop Ferry, Valkyrie will be offering two free 20 minute cruises out and back to the Boston Harbor at 7:30 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Winthrop Landing. 
Winthrop Taxi will be offering
complimentary taxi rides to and from the landing from anywhere in Winthrop between the hours of 6  and 9 p.m. that evening.
Local artists will be on site displaying and selling their artwork and creations. The first 250 people will receive a free hot dog or burger with chips and a refreshment that evening.

There will be live music with a performance by Jim Feeley and the Refugees * Rain date June 19.

 

Revere High Class of 1965 reunion

The Revere High School Class of 1965 is having a 70th birthday party for Revere High and Immaculate School members of their Class of 1965 who have turned 70 or will be turning 70.  The event will be held on Saturday, June 23, at the Marina at the Wharf – Revere,  from 7 p.m. to whenever. There will be a buffet, favors, dancing, DJ, and lots of fun seeing our classmates and friends.
