Belle Isle Ecology Park Marsh Walk advances
Residents are advised that the municipal parking lot on Banks Street near the intersection of Winthrop Street will be partially and temporarily restricted, due to the advancing construction of the new Belle Isle Marsh Walkway.
The town’s contractor on the project North Shore Marine Co. has advanced the construction of the project as much as they can from their current staging area at the new park on Morton Street. In order to continue building the marsh boardwalk feature toward the Belle Isle Cemetery, North Shore Marine will need to begin staging equipment and materials from the parking lot, as it provides better access to the marsh at this stage of the project.
The town will work with North Shore Marine to ensure that the contractor utilizes as little of the parking lot as possible and the restricted area will be surrounded by temporary fencing on the site. Any portion of the parking lot not enclosed by temporary fencing will remain open to public parking uses.
