Beachfront Bargain Hunt Highlights Winthrop

By Kate Anslinger

It’s the talk of the town. The Home and Garden Television Network (HGTV) will be featuring Winthrop in one of the upcoming episodes of Beachfront Bargain Hunt. The popular program follows a new family every week, on a mission to help them achieve their dreams of living on the beach at an affordable price. The show proves that you don’t have to be wealthy to score a home on the beach and brings attention to the affordable gems that offer beachfront living.

HGTV will be shooting footage at the Winthrop Farmers Market on September 13, 2015, between 11 am and 2 pm.  Crews were in town two weekends ago and are expected back later this month, but there is a cloud of secrecy. The production company is said to have procured roughly 30 privacy agreements for filming from various property owners.

The footage will be used in an upcoming episode of the reality TV program. The Winthrop Farmers Market volunteers have been working with the town and HGTV’s production company to finalize all last minute details and anticipate a great event that highlights the vitality and community spirit of Winthrop. Come down on Sunday morning and show your support for the market and your pride in our wonderful town!

While information on the other filming locations is limited at this time, Magilla Entertainment, a production company that specializes in non-scripted TV, will be producing the show. Magilla Entertainment is recognized as one of the leaders in the field of non-scripted TV and has produced shows on media outlets including: Bravo, CMT, ABC, E!, DIY, Food Network, TLC, Travel Channel, History Channel, VH1, FX, Discovery, HBO, truTV, Style and Lifetime.

Stay tuned for more information on the scheduled dates and times of the program.
