Matt Crombie, New WHS Principal

We join the community in congratulating Matt Crombie on his appointment as the new principal at Winthrop High School. Matt is an excellent choice for the position, having served very well as an administrator in the school system and having a great knowledge of our town, our schools, and our athletic program. Matt grew up here and graduated from Winthrop High School in 2000 and knows the dedicated teachers and administrators who provide an enriching education for all our students. Matt knows too, the important role that extracurricular activities and athletics play in the daily lives of our students. Matt is very supportive of our sports teams, particularly the national champion WHS cheerleading squad.

We commend Supt. of Schools John Macero for his efforts in appointing Matt to this esteemed position in our school system. It was important to maintain the momentum of all the positive things that are happening at the high school and Matt will direct the school professionally and with the best interests of our students in mind during this crucial time of transition as the students prepare to enter a brand new high school two years hence.
