The honor for February was given to Mark Dixon, an 11th grade teacher of history and psychology. He has been a Winthrop High School teacher for the last 14 years. The California native is a graduate of the University of Wyoming. He said he enjoys teaching a subject students enjoy.
“They’re favorites among the students,†said WHS senior Jessica Vigliotte, “They’re excellent quality teachers the kids look up to.â€
Vigliotte added that both teachers enhance the atmosphere at the high school. She and other students worked with Nicholson on a special project called, “Project Bethlehem.â€

She added that the two teachers teach the most exciting courses.
“It’s an elective, not a core course. With an elective you want to be in the class,†Vigliotte said.
