The Viking Pride Foundation is busy planning “The Final Countdown,” which will be the last opportunity for us to visit Winthrop High School before the wrecking ball arrives and makes way for the new Winthrop middle/high school that will be an incredible state-of-the-art complex. The Foundation, under the capable leadership of Vin Crossman, has announced a grant program that will help Winthrop teachers during the transition process while the new school project is under construction. The grants will help teachers with some of the unexpected expenses that arise and that they need in order to continue the educational process.
Viking Pride has been so immensely valuable to our town since its inception. The group’s generosity and innovation — such as the new grant program — are increasing as the years go by.
Thank you, Viking Pride, and we look forward to attending another of your galas, which have been so enjoyable in the past.
