Clean-up Day Set for Sept. 28

The Winthrop’s Worth It committee is organizing a Town Trash Clean-Up Day for Saturday, September 28 beginning at 10 a.m. and we need volunteers who want to help clean up the town and show your pride in our community.
The Winthrop’s Worth It Town Clean-Up will take place at 12 locations across town including: The French Square/Centre area, Cummings School, Middle School, High School, Gorman/Fort Banks School, Ingleside Park, Coughlin Playground, Lewis Lake/Daw Playground, Crest Avenue Park, Massa Playground, Yirrell Beach and Winthrop Beach.
Though the meeting spots will be obvious in most locations, volunteers are advised to gather at French Square in the Centre area, at Beacon Circle at the south end of Winthrop Beach and near the handicapped entrance of Yirrell Beach beginning at 10 a.m. on Sept. 28.
Team leaders will be waiting for volunteers at each of the 12 sites, so volunteers are asked to simply go to the location of their choosing and join in. if volunteers have their own gloves and trash bags they can bring them, trash bags and gloves will be provided for those who don’t have them. A pizza party will be held for all volunteers at Ingleside Park following the clean-up event.
The committee asks everyone to join in cleaning up the town, because Winthrop’s Worth It!
