First WHS Home Game : Come Down to Miller Field Friday Night

The Winthrop High football team will play its first home game of the 2012 season Friday night at Miller Field and the opponent just happens to be one of the best teams in the state this year in a powerful and undefeated Beverly High squad. We hope that Winthrop residents young and old will turn out and support coach Sean Driscoll and his Vikings, who are looking  to make a strong run for the league championship.

On a side note, the leader of the Beverly High athletic program is former Winthrop resident and WHS alumnus James Coffey, who was recently named the most outstanding athletic director for his district. We  offer our congratulations to James on this award.
