Town Manager James McKenna announced at the Council Meeting Tuesday night that there will not be a fireworks display in the town for the Fourth of July Independence Day celebration.
McKenna said Lou Camacho, who has led the effort for several years, is unable to perform in that role this year because “he has to tend to some health issues.â€
The manager is hopeful that the town can resume hosting a holiday fireworks demonstration next year.
“Unfortunately this year we’ll have to go to other communities to enjoy fireworks this season,†said McKenna.

Is the town going to take the burden of funding a fireworks extravaganza off the shoulders of the explosives expert who holds the license to run the program? Or is this the town manager just blustering more maybe, if..??
