A Real Dud: No Fireworks Planned for 4th

Town Manager James McKenna announced at the Council Meeting Tuesday night that there will not be a fireworks display in the town for the Fourth of July Independence Day celebration.

McKenna said Lou Camacho, who has led the effort for several years, is unable to perform in that role this year because “he has to tend to some health issues.”

The manager is hopeful that the town can resume hosting a holiday fireworks demonstration next year.

“Unfortunately this year we’ll have to go to other communities to enjoy fireworks this season,” said McKenna.

Is the town going to take the burden of funding a fireworks extravaganza off the shoulders of the explosives expert who holds the license to run the program?  Or is this the town manager just blustering more maybe, if..??

For years you let this rest on one Mans passion and Now because of his health and the Fact that laws have changed requiring more expensive equipment all of sudden we have to go some where else, with all the money in this town !!! Give me a break if it was for football or hockey then it would matter !
