Gina Monaco

58-year employee of Bond Brothers Construction

Gina M. (Vincenti) Monaco of Everett died on December 27.

A 58 year employee of Bond Brothers Constuction, she was the beloved wife of the late Walter Mills and the late Leonard Monaco; mother of Janeen Traill of Revere, Loretta Cirrone and her husband, James, of Saugus and Margaret Caporale and her husband, Angelo, of Revere; sister of Josephine Murray of Winthrop and the late Florence Reynolds and is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristin, Kelley, William, David, Kathy, Anthony and the late James Jr. and 10 great grandchildren.

Her Funeral will be held from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St, Everett, today, Wednesday, December 29 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Everett at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN., 38105. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.

 

John Dwyer

Died recently

John G. Dwyer died on December 23 after a long illness.

He was the father of Colleen Franken of Weston, Florida, Dail Dwyer of Winthrop and Laurie Roth of Boca Raton, Florida; grandfather of Matthew and Ryan McGrail, Nina Franken and of James Thomas Sjostedt; brother of James, Edward, Ronald, Carol, Sis, Margaret and the late Michael and Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne on January 4 with arrangements entrusted to the Caggiano Funeral Home, Winthrop.

 

Ruth Kelley, 89

Of Washington State, formerly of Winthrop

Ruth F. (Finn) Kelley of Redmond, WA, formerly of Winthrop, died at her home on December 12. She was 89 years old.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Anna F. (Gunn) Kelley; beloved wife of the late Thomas R. Kelley Jr., devoted mother of Timothy Kelley of Clermont, FL, Janet Kelley-Jones of Kirkland, WA, and the late Brian Kelly; dear sister of the late Anna Finn of Winthrop and Helen Flynn of Stoneham; adored grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of eight.

Arthur Glufling, 94

Retired Truck Driver

Arthur F. Glufling, a lifelong resident of Everett, died at home after a period of failing health surrounded by his family on Christmas Eve. He was 94 years old.

Born in Boston, he drove a truck for Rex Lumber Company in Cambridge. He has been retired for many years. He was a US Coast Guard veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW in Waltham.

He was the beloved husband of the late Martina R. (Landry) and the loving father of Arthur and his wife, Beverly, of Everett, Elizabeth DeStefano and her husband, Peter, of Peabody, John and his wife, Lorraine, of Winthrop, Paul of Malden, and Karen of Everett. He was the brother of Mary Smith of Stoneham and the late James and Beatrice Sechlin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

Judith Guerard

Winthrop resident

Judith A. (Cini) Guerard, formerly of Middleboro and Brockton, died in Winthrop on December 23.

The beloved wife of William Guerard, she was the devoted mother of Nicole Guerard of Allentown, PA; step-mother of William and Scott Guerard, both of Weymouth; Nana to Steven, Sean, Shay and Scott; daughter of Fabio John Cini of California and the late Jean (Delaney); sister of Patricia Jean O’Brian and her husband, Dennis, Deborah Cini and Vincent John Cini, all of Caliornia and Denise Marie Herget and her husband, Richard, of Manchester, NH.

Her Funeral will be held from the O’Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave. Dorchester, today, Wednesday, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Neponset at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Rather than flowers, the family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Cam Neely Foundation, 30 Winter St., Boston, MA 02108. Burial will be private.

 

Sandra Giarla

Eucharistic Minister

Sandra (Cuzzi) Giarla of East Boston died on December 23.

She was a past member of EBECC, Noah and Task Force Heritage Complex and a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Redeemer Church.

She was the loving daughter of the late Luigi and Isabella (Masciulli) Cuzzi; dear wife of Robert Giarla of East Boston; beloved sister of Valerie Young of Winthrop, Richard Cuzzi and his wife, Anna, of Revere, Judith Domenico and her husband, Tom, of East Boston, Robert Cuzzi and his wife, Roberta, of Tewksbury and Stephen Cuzzi and his wife, Josephine, of Saugus. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews as well as many special friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Memorial Mass celebrating her life in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Maverick Street (Maverick Square) East Boston on Saturday, January 2 at 11 a.m. In honoring her life, memorial donations may be made to Most Holy Redemeer Church, 65 London St. East Boston or Our Savior Lutheran Church, 28 Paris St. East Boston. Joan Miller

Somerville resident

Joan (Sordillo) Miller of Somerville died on December 21.

The beloved wife of Richard H. Miller, she was the mother of Richard Miller and his wife, Maureen, of Winthrop, Jill Geiger and her husband, Bob, of Virginia, Joannie Miller of Medford, Robert Miller of Somerville, Paul Miller, Maria Moran and Michele Passanisi, all of Medford, Anthony Miller and his wife, Sandy, and Celia Saltman and her husband, Leo, all of Somerville; daughter of the late Anthony and Gilda (Biancamano) Sordillo; grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of five; sister of Joseph Miller of Somerville, John Miller and his wife, Terri, of North Reading, Anthony Miller of Hawaii and the late Celia Pettigrew.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cota -Struzziero-McKenna Funeral Home. Somerville. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. MaIden.

 

Joseph Bazzinotti

Veteran of Two Wars

Joseph J. “Joe” Bazzinotti of Medford, formerly of South Boston, died on December 22.

A US Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Silvestro); devoted father of Joanne Sauro of Medford and the late Marie Nicholaides; loving grandfather of Stephen, Andrew and Stephanie; brother of Louis and Ernest Bazzinotti, both of Dorchester, Anna Massa of Winthrop, Margaret Green of Peabody, William Bazzinotti of South Boston, Anthony Bazzinotti of Wilmington, and the late John Bazzinotti, Mary McHugh, Jean Corcoran and Rita O’Dell.

Funeral arrangements were by the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
