On the Fourth of July proper on Saturday, Winthrop’s 144th Annual Horrible’s Parade kicks off at 9 a.m. from the public landing at 770 Shirley St.

The event ends with free festivities including a DJ, leg races, a blueberry pie eating contest, and awards for parade winners at Coughlin Park. Categories in this year’s parade include best float, most hilarious, most horrible, most patriotic, most original, and most beautiful.
The Fourth of July celebrations will culminate in a massive fireworks display at Coughlin Park, starting around 9:15 to 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
