Katherine B. (Gallagher) Hubert, a lifelong resident of Winthrop, entered peacefully into rest surrounded by loved ones on April 21, 2026.
The loving wife of Daniel, she was the beloved mother of William and his girlfriend,. Rachel Janielis, Robert and his fiancé, Sarah Austin, Christine, Rebecca, Jessica, Courtney, Timmy and the late Daniel; devoted sister of Judith Teixeira and her husband, Timothy, Ellen Baxter and her husband, Mark, James P. Gallagher and his partner, MaryBeth Hetherton and the late Amy Gallagher; devoted cat mom to Tater the Great and a cherished aunt, loving cousin, loyal friend to many and lifelong friend of the Delehanty family.
Kathy was first and foremost, a woman of unending Christian faith. She was a caretaker to her mother and also to so many children in the town of Winthrop beginning with Sunshine School and Kathy’s Daycare which formed many lasting friendships. Whether she was cooking at Larsen Rink, setting up the chairs at the Seagull beach circle or for the Cape Cod St. Pat’s parade, cheering on her boys at the Vikings games or hosting epic Fourth of July parties at Otis Street, Kathy was steadfastly there for us all.
She will surely be watching over us in heaven especially her beloved husband, Dan and his unwavering devotion to every second of her care especially in her final months. Together they raised Billy and Bobby to become the extraordinary men that they are today. Kathy will always be known for her Irish spirit. Her Facebook friends will miss her way with words that uplifted everyone’s day.
The funeral was conducted from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Tuesday, April 28 followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church. Services concluded with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.

Patricia Delorey
Retired educator remembered her for her commitment to her students, her passion for the arts and her spirited love of life
Patricia Delorey, 95, of Winthrop, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born in
Somerville, she was the beloved daughter of the late Veronica (O’Halloran) and Cy Wentworth. Pat lived in Winthrop for more than 30 years and dedicated many years of her life to education. As a graduate of Regis College, she went on to teach math, science and English.
A person of great warmth and curiosity, Pat cherished the arts. She loved the
theatre and musicals, and she found joy dancing at the dance halls on Revere Beach. Pat’s family, friends, and former colleagues remember her for her commitment to her students, her passion for the arts, and her spirited love of life. She was always one to look on the bright side of life, with a quick wit and great sense of humor.
She was the devoted wife of the late Leonard Delorey and the loving mother of Patricia Delorey of Sarasota, Florida, Christine and David Chiasson of Westwood and Leonard Delorey Jr. and his wife, Jima of Winthrop; dear sister of the late John Wentworth and cherished grandmother of Veronica.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Caggiano-O’Maley-Frazier Funeral Home, Winthrop on Monday, May 4 from 4 to 7 p.m.. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 9: a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with the interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Jayne Marie Romano
A woman of deep faith and multi-time world champion equestrian
Jayne Marie (Ellis) Romano, lovingly known as “Nonie,” passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on February 25, 1938, in Boston, Jayne was raised in the Mission Hill neighborhood, where she formed the strong foundation of family, faith, and resilience that would guide her throughout her life.
Jayne is survived by her daughter, Paula Jayne Percoco; her granddaughters, Alexandra Jayne and Nicole Marie; her son, Dean Peter Romano, and his wife, Carol Anne; and her grandsons, Dean Peter and Zachary Charles. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Joseph Romano, and her son, Peter Joseph Jr.
In the fall of 1960, she married the love of her life, Peter, with whom she shared a devoted partnership until his passing. Together, they built a successful real estate business and raised their children first in Belmont and later in Weston, Massachusetts. Jayne was deeply committed to education and took great pride in her children’s academics, serving on the boards of Saint Sebastian’s School and Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. Much of Jayne and Peter’s life was centered on Cape Cod, where they created a gathering place for their family —boating, biking, running— establishing traditions that grew into a lasting legacy.
Jayne and Peter shared an enduring fervor for travel, journeying across the world—from Egypt to multiple Olympic Games. They spent significant time throughout Europe, immersing themselves in museums and churches. Jayne and Peter had a deep love of art and art history and were avid collectors.
Affectionately called “Nonie” by all who knew and loved her—a name she chose as a grandmother simply because it rhymes with “pony”—Jayne had a lifelong passion for animals. She was a multi-time world champion equestrian, and created treasured memories alongside Paula, Allie, and Nicky, spending summers in Kentucky competing and sharing their love of the sport. Later in life, Jayne lived in Kentucky full-time, where she immersed herself in her love of horses and built lasting relationships with her closest friends in the horse community.
A woman of deep faith, Jayne was a devoted Catholic who found strength and comfort in her beliefs. She and Peter were deeply involved in St. Joseph’s parish in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Together, they attended many pilgrimages, and she was rebaptized in the Jordan River.
Jayne will be remembered for her strength, intellect, clever sense of humor, and her unmistakable sense of grace and polish. Jayne carried herself with dignity and purpose, and her generosity touched all who knew her. Her legacy will be that of a matriarch with an exemplary devotion to her family and to all who were fortunate enough to call her “Nonie.”

Geraldine “Gerry” Cash
She was a woman of unwavering faith known for her warm heart, infectious laugh, and her famous brownies
Geraldine “Gerry” Cash, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2026, at the age of 81 surrounded by and under the loving care of her three daughters.
Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, Gerry was the cherished daughter of Byron A. Aldridge and Mary T. (Diggins) Aldridge, and the devoted wife of the late Walter J. “Buddy” Cash. Together, they built a life centered around family, laughter, and unwavering faith.
She was a loving and dedicated mother to Christine Chavis and her husband, Michael of North Andover; Carolyn Gagnon and her husband, Michael of Winthrop; and Danielle Cash-Halderman of Boston. Gerry’s greatest joy was her family, and she took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children.
Gerry was a cherished grandmother to Corey Elizabeth and her partner, Kevin Witkum, Meghan Elissa and her husband, Griffin Dalton, Michael John, Katie Elise, and Ryan Joseph. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was the dear sister of Nancy Buckley and her husband John of Westwood and Billy Aldridge and his wife, Elizabeth of Walpole. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathy McDonough and her husband, Emmet, and her brother, Bobby, who she missed dearly. She was also the beloved Auntie Gerry to 41 nieces and nephews and a dearest sister-in-law, holding a special place in the hearts of her extended family.
Gerry was known for her warm heart, infectious laugh, and her famous brownies, which brought joy to all who knew her. She had a passion for spending time with family and friends, sharing meals in the company of her loved ones, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Gerry loved reading—rarely without one of her three Kindles close by—and cherished vacations, including a memorable trip to Puerto Rico and many special days spent on Deer Cove Road at Ossipee Lake surrounded by family. She treasured traveling, including many Boston-to-Bermuda cruises, even when no one else was available to accompany her.
Gerry was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she found comfort, strength, and a strong sense of community throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Winthrop Senior Center, where Gerry enjoyed playing cards, socializing, day trips, and participating in many activities with her dear friends who brought immense joy into her life.

Gerald Garber

Gerald Garber, 86, of Winthrop, died on April 20, 2026 of natural causes. Born on January 25, 1940 to the late Peter and Anna Garber, he is survived by brother Lawrence Garber (Carol), niece Karen Garber (Ransom Stephens) and nephew Steven Garber (Bill Bonnet).
Graveside services will be held at Roumanian American Cemetery in Danvers on Wednesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
