Winthrop Charities will Host Murder Mystery Dinner March 20 at WYC

By Cary Shuman

As they say, get your tickets early, because Mike and Donna Eruzione and Winthrop Charities have a special event coming to the Winthrop Yacht Club.

The locally based organization, headed by the Eruzione Family, will host a Murder Myster Fundraiser Dinner, on Friday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m.

“This is our big fundraiser of the year,” said Mike Eruzione, the 1980 gold-medal-winning hockey captain who just returned from the Winter Olympics in Milan where the men’s and women’s hockey teams captured gold medals.

Since its inception, Winthrop Charities has donated close to $500,000 to local organizations, the public schools, and WHS sports programs. One important donation was providing defibrillators (medical devices for treating sudden cardiac arrest) to schools throughout the district.

An interactive show

A preview of the mystery dinner states: “Join us as the Murder Mystery Company of Boston brings an 80s-themed two hours of mystery, intrigue, and murder to the Winthrop Yacht Club. From the moment you arrive, professional actors will immerse you in the story. Some guests may be selected as suspects, while others work together at their tables as detectives to uncover clues, question characters, and solve the mystery before the night ends. Expect laughs, twists, and a live-action experience inspired by the game, Clue.’’

“It should be a fun night,” said Eruzione. “Guests will enjoy dinner and a show, and the audience participates and tries to figure out who did it. We’re encouraging guests to dress in 1980s’ attire. We welcome people in the community to come and enjoy a fantastic event.”
