Autumn Festival at the Deane Winthrop Barn
The Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association (WIHA) is pleased to announce that it will hold an Autumn Festival at the Deane Winthrop Barn, 40 Shirley Street, on Saturday, November 15th from 1-5pm.
The Barn will host a group of 14 crafters. Why not take a moment for yourself before the holiday hustle and bustle begins? There’s no nicer way to start your holiday shopping for unique gifts than to browse the craft tables, listen to great music, and enjoy our hot apple cider and delicious refreshments!
There will be photo-ops with Santa available in front of the fireplace in the historic Deane Winthrop House. For a $10 donation to WIHA, you can photograph your children (or we can do this for you) using YOUR camera or cellphone for a memorable holiday Christmas card. Or, invite a loved one and celebrate this holiday season with a photo of the two of you posed with Santa. Or, bring your family, young and old, and take a group photo with Santa.
The 2025 WIHA ornament will be available for sale. Order forms for ordering your holiday gift cards will also be available. And back by popular demand, our inventory of Deane Winthrop tombstone tee shirts has been fully restocked. Check out the new colors!
WIHA thanks you for your support of this fundraiser. All proceeds go to the preservation and maintenance of the Deane Winthrop House.
Halloween House Decorating Contest: Voting is Open!
The town of Winthrop’s Holiday House Decorating Contest: Halloween 2025! is in full swing, and residents are now invited to view the displays and cast their votes. The houses are decorated, and the competition for the “Town Decorating Prestige” prize is fierce.
The contest, organized by Andrea Singarella, showcases the frighteningly creative hard work of the participants.
How to View and Vote
Residents are encouraged to drive by and see the contestants’ decorated homes. Voting began on October 28.
Important: Only Winthrop residents are eligible to vote for the most decorated house.
