Staff Report
Winthrop High School Principal Matt Crombie splendidly summarized the Vikings’ state championship season in remarks to the Sun-Transcript.
“Winning the MIAA D4 State Championship is a testament to the relentless physical and mental toughness of our boys hockey team, the exceptional leadership of our senior players, and the unparalleled dedication and focus of our amazing coaching staff,” said Mr. Crombie. “This season was filled with challenges, but through sheer grit, talent, and a strong will to win, our players overcame every obstacle in their path. I am so proud of this group for what they have accomplished for our program and our school. The overwhelming support from our students, staff, and alumni as well as the entire Winthrop community at TD Garden on Sunday was a magnificent display of Viking Pride, and it made this victory even more special.”
