Monday, December 16
0815: A Myrtle Ave. resident came into the station to report that an unknown motor vehicle was in his driveway. The vehicle had been reported as stolen a few days previously. The officer ordered the vehicle to be towed and filed a report.
0856: A portion of Lewis Ave. was closed because of a water main break.
1039: A resident came into the station to report that he had been the victim of a fraud. The officer filed a report.
1234: A Johnson Ave. resident came into the station to report that his apartment had been broken into and numerous items were taken. The officer filed a report.
1538: An officer responded to a report of a verbal altercation between two older women on Shirley St. The officer spoke to both women and advised them to stay away from each other. The officer filed a report.
2002: An officer ordered a tow for a motorcycle on Cottage Park Rd. The motorcycle had been tagged and had been placed on the 72-hour list on December 11, but still had not moved.

0203: An officer issued parking tickets to five vehicles without resident parking stickers on Brookfield Rd.
1208: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Pleasant St. for the civil moving infraction of a number plate violation. The officer issued a citation to the operator.

1301: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Main St. for the civil moving infraction of violating the hands-free law. The officer issued a citation to the operator.
1317: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Main St. for the civil moving infractions of a red light violation and a marked lanes violation. The officer issued a citation to the operator.

0147: An officer stopped a motor vehicle at Pleasant St. and Ingleside Ave. and arrested the operator, Joseph Daniel Fialkowski, 25, of Peabody, on an outstanding warrant and for the criminal offense of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He also was cited for the civil motor vehicle infraction of speeding. The motor vehicle was towed.

1728: A Winthrop office assisted the Malden Police with the arrest of an individual on Revere St.

1845: An officer directed the owner of a motor vehicle parked on a crosswalk on Main St. to move the vehicle.

0300: An officer issued parking tickets to eight vehicles without resident parking stickers on Hutchinson St., Crest Ave., and Veterans Rd.
0727: An officer retrieved hypodermic syringes in the area of the public stairs on Hutchinson St. and brought the needles back to the station for proper disposal.
0852: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Pleasant St. for the civil moving infraction of a red light violation. The officer gave a verbal warning to the operator.
1037: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Walden St. for the civil moving infraction of a stop sign violation. The officer gave a verbal warning to the operator.
1140: A person came into the station to report an attempted scam. He said he received a phone call from a person purporting to be from National Grid who said that his account was delinquent and he was facing a shut-off if he did not make a payment within 20 minutes. The person said he called National Grid directly and they said his account was in good standing.
1219: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Walden St. for the civil moving infraction of a stop sign violation. The officer issued a citation to the operator.
1236: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Main St. and issued a citation to the operator for the criminal offense of attaching plates and for the civil infractions of a number plate violation and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was towed to the owner’s home where it was parked on private property.
1243: A person called the station to report that a dog that was roaming feely on Shirley St. had been acting aggressively. The Animal Control Officer spoke to the owner and advised them that the dog must be leashed at all times.
1358: A person called the station to report that she and her husband received a phone call from someone who said they were from National Grid. She said that she and her husband did not fall for the scam, but wanted the incident noted in the police log.
1446: An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hawthorn Ave. in which a vehicle struck a parked vehicle. There were no injuries and neither vehicle was towed. The officer filed a report.
1831: An officer responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Main St. The operator of one of the vehicles had a suspended license, which is a criminal offense. His vehicle was towed and he was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
1854: An officer responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident at Beach Rd. and Shore Drive between a Ford Escape and a Mercedes sedan. Both parties refused medical attention. The operator of the Mercedes called for a private tow. The officer filed a report.
Saturday, December 21
0929: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Revere St. for the civil moving infraction of a red light violation. The officer gave a verbal warning to the operator.
1430: A person came into the station to report that she had found an Apple Watch in the parking lot at Larsen Rink. The office filed a report. The owner of the watch came in a few hours later to retrieve it.
1917: The Animal Control Officer found a small dog on the loose at Winthrop and Banks Sts. The officer brought the dog to the Ocean View Kennels.
2141: A person called the station to report that he had observed a person backing up his vehicle from a parking space at the Winthrop Golf Club, twice striking another vehicle, and then leaving the scene. The officer filed a report.
Sunday, December 22
0137: An officer issued 15 parking tickets to vehicles without resident parking stickers in the area of Johnson And Bellevue Aves.
0346: An officer stopped a motor vehicle on Shirley St. being operated by a person without a valid license, which is a criminal offense. The officer issued a citation to the operator and a licensed person was able to take control of the vehicle.
1052: A disabled motor vehicle at Shirley St. and Crystal Cove Ave. was ordered towed and was brought to private property.
2052: An officer directed a person operating a U-Haul truck that was parked at Moore and Shirley Sts. and overhanging the corner to park the truck at the Public Landing for the night.
