Winthrop Parks and Recreation Will Host Spring Fair on Saturday at Ingleside Park

Winthrop Parks and Recreation Director Sean Driscoll has a free, blockbuster event planned for all Winthrop residents  Saturday (May 20, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.) at Ingleside Park.

Driscoll and his staff will host the second annual Spring Fair, with many activities planned for children and families.

“We held it last year for the first time after COVID, and the response was tremendous, so we’re excited about Year 2,” said Driscoll.

The event is being held in collaboration with the Bike Winthrop group, who will lead a Bike Ride beginning at 1 p.m. Other bicycle-related activities include a bike rodeo and safety course for children and safety tips and helmets courtesy of the Winthrop Police Department.

Lantern Real Estate will be holding a free raffle for a brand-new bicycle.

Driscoll said children will be able to participate in activities such as bouncing, inflatable structures and pony rides.

“We’ll also have 30 vendors at different tables and musical entertainment, and our guests can enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, popcorn, and soft drinks,” related Driscoll. “Harbor City Church will be distributing cotton candy. It’s going to be a great day as long as the weather cooperates – the temperature is supposed to be around 70 [degrees].”
