It Never Gets Old!

 Dear Editor,

In 2023, it will be 50 years that I’ve lived in Winthrop.  I remember that my husband Tom said, “We don’t have to live in Winthrop.  We could live anywhere.”  After witnessing my first “Santa on the Firetruck,” however, I was bent on staying in Winthrop.

I want to personally thank the Winthrop Firefighters Union Local 1070 for creating the magnificent “Santa on the Firetruck.”  With lights and holiday music, Santa rides through town bringing joy and excitement to young and old alike. This Firefighters’ gift to Winthrop residents just never gets old!

Thank you, Chief Scott Wiley and our Winthrop Firefighters, for the emergency fire and medical services you render all year round.  Local 1070, thank you for giving us this spectacular Santa experience each and every Christmas Eve!
