Winthrop’s Jillian Dempsey Is Honored at the Tradition

Boston Pride captain and former Harvard ice hockey star Jillian Dempsey of Winthrop received the Hockey Legacy Award at the Sports Museum’s The Tradition, a gala celebration of Boston sports, that was held Dec. 6 at the TD Garden. Jillian Dempsey is interviewed on stage about her numerous achievements in high school, college, and professional women’s hockey and being a positive role model for student-athletes. On receiving the award, Dempsey said, “It was such an incredible honor to receive the Hockey Legacy Award at The Tradition evening. I really enjoyed interacting with the other recipients: Johnny Damon, Mark Recchi, M.L. Carr, Lawyer Milloy, Bill Rodgers, and Chante Bonds. I am truly humbled to be in the company of some of Boston’s greatest sports figures. It was even more special to have my family and teammates at the
Garden supporting me during the ceremony.”
