Another Honor For Jillian Dempsey

We wish to acknowledge the recent announcement by the Boston Marathon that Boston Pride team captains Jillian Dempsey of Winthrop and Mary Parker of Milton will serve as honorary Grand Marshals for the 126th Boston Marathon this Monday, leading 30,000 participants from start to finish.

Dempsey and Parker recently helped the Boston Pride women’s professional hockey team to claim its second straight Isobel Cup Championship as part of the Premier Hockey Federation.

Dempsey and Parker will be driven to the finish in the all-new 2022 Honda Passport 5-passenger SUV, where they will join the rest of their Pride teammates on Boylston Street. Winthrop has a great tradition of long distance runners (Gus Foley, Marathon author Tom Derderian, Artie Gray, Paul Caruccio, and world-class tri-athlete Warren MacPhail come to mind) and we are delighted to see that Jillian Dempsey will be a part of the upcoming Boston Marathon
