Although the primary focus of every voter this year has been on the Presidential election, local voters should be aware that there are other candidates on the ballot.
Although House Speaker Bob DeLeo is not facing a Republican opponent this year, we urge every voter in his Revere and Winthrop district to give Bob a vote as an expression of thanks for the incredible job he has done not not only as our State Representative, but also as the primary leader of our state government.
Massachusetts continues to rank at the top both in our nation and in the world in many respects — education, the economy, and facing climate change — and Bob DeLeo has been responsible more than any political leader on Beacon Hill over the past dozen years for making Massachusetts the envy of the rest of the country.
We are facing incredibly challenging times — but there is no one who has a better understanding of what we need to get through them than Bob DeLeo.
We also urge voters in Winthrop and Revere to remember to cast a vote for Ed Markey for U.S. Senate. Ed Markey represented our communities in Washington for decades and did more for this district than any Congressman in our history.
He also has been the most vocal advocate in the U.S. Senate of meeting the challenge of climate change, which poses an existential threat to coastal communities such as Winthrop and Revere. Ed Markey is needed in Washington more than ever — and we urge every voter to be sure to give Ed a vote
